The Republican Party is a cult masquerading as a political party
Like a cult, the Republican Party expects loyalty to party above truth and loyalty to the country. Republicans defend Trump and the Republican Party at the expense of our democracy, our judicial system, our intelligence agencies and our allies.

A cult would put the cult’s interest above America’s interest. The Republican Party’s game plan is simple defend, distort, deflect when all else fails attack the truth with alternative-facts (fiction) and whataboutism. Every morning republicans across America receive the republican daily talking points for the day. Everyday republicans across America use the talking points to promote the story of the day facts or alternative-facts (fiction) they do not care they just do what they are told to do. Using Fox News and other conservative media to promote republican propaganda using alternative-facts (fiction) and whataboutism to deceive millions of Americans to promote and protect your party above the interest of America is un-patriotic and is a cult like practice. Day in day out Republicans promote alternative-facts (fiction) and whataboutism to millions of Americans not out of loyalty to America but out of loyalty to the Republican Party. A cult will ostracizes cult members who do not go along with the cult’s game plan. Republicans ostracizes their own members when they do not go along with the current party line. If a congressional representative or a Senator does not tow the party line, they will be primaried. If a republican does not tow the party line, they may be accused of not being a republican or label a RINO (Republican in Name Only). Republicans are destroying our democracy by attacking the integrity of the justice department, the FBI and our intelligence agencies to protect Trump. Republicans are putting party first protecting Trump, a traitor and mole for the Russians above protecting America. The Republican Party is not good for America we need to vote them out of office because they put party above country.

Former secretary of state says US is in midst of well-funded efforts to undermine American democracy

In a TV appearance on Monday, Hillary Clinton spoke about the prospect of Donald Trump running again for the presidency in 2024. “If he wants to be the [Republican] nominee, he will be the nominee,” the former secretary of state told the panel of ABC’s The View. Ms Clinton spoke about a range of political issues during the discussion, including saying that the US is still “in the midst of a concerted, well-funded, effort to undermine American democracy”. more...

(Reuters) - Dozens of Republicans in former President George W. Bush's administration are leaving the party, dismayed by a failure of many elected Republicans to disown Donald Trump after his false claims of election fraud sparked a deadly storming of the U.S. Capitol last month. These officials, some who served in the highest echelons of the Bush administration, said they had hoped that a Trump defeat would lead party leaders to move on from the former president and denounce his baseless claims that the November presidential election was stolen. But with most Republican lawmakers sticking to Trump, these officials say they no longer recognize the party they served. Some have ended their membership, others are letting it lapse while a few are newly registered as independents, according to a dozen former Bush officials who spoke with Reuters. more...

Former Oklahoma GOP Congressman Mickey Edwards said that he is leaving his party because it has become a “cult” led by President Trump. Edwards was critical of Republicans questioning the results of the presidential election, and of Republicans who voted to throw out Electoral College votes of two battleground states after a mob invaded the Capitol building last week to stop their work. “This has become a cult. It’s no longer a political party. It’s a cult,” Edwards told Oklahoma's News 4 on Thursday. "It’s the kind of a cult that when the leader of the cult does anything, no matter what it is, or how awful it is, they voted. “They voted to question the election results even after people came into the Capitol, tried to kill them and killed a police officer who was trying to protect them. And they did that.” more...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has called out Republicans by saying they've allowed their political party to be hijacked and transformed into a "cult." Pelosi's remarks came during a Wednesday morning interview with MSNBC's Morning Joe, in which she strongly criticized President Donald Trump and said GOP lawmakers in Congress were in lockstep with the White House. The top Democratic lawmaker referred to Trump as a "rogue president" but said she hopes some Republicans will "intervene." "One of my prayers is that the Republicans will take back their party," Pelosi said. "The country needs a strong Republican Party. It's done so much for our country, and to have it be hijacked as a cult at this time is really a sad thing for America." The speaker also said the GOP under Trump is giving "credence" to white supremacists. more...

As the GOP counter-offensive runs on fake news and conspiracy theories, critics say truth itself is under attack “Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four,” George Orwell wrote in the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four. “If that is granted, all else follows.” The pro-Donald Trump industrial complex has not yet denied basic arithmetic. But as impeachment looms, his allies appear to be waging an increasingly frantic political and media counter-offensive that puts truth itself in the dock.

A bewildering array of fake news, warped facts and conspiracy theories have been propagated in the past week by conservative media, Republican politicians, White House officials and the president in his own defence. It is, commentators say, a concerted disinformation war, intended to crowd out damaging revelations as the House of Representatives prepares its ultimate sanction.

“The more facts come out, the more desperate they get,” said Kurt Bardella, a former spokesman and senior adviser on the House oversight committee. “They know in a debate centred on facts, truth and reality, they lose. Their only mechanism to survive is to muddy the waters, distort, distract and hope if they repeat lies often enough, they become real.”

But Rick Wilson, a Republican strategist and author of Everything Trump Touches Dies, said: “I’m not surprised at Ted Cruz being sycophantic to Trump. Trump broke Ted Cruz a long time ago. The Republicans have the worst political Stockholm syndrome we’ve ever seen. “These guys are all in an abusive relationship with Trump. I don’t mean that in a flippant way. They behave the way you see victims of domestic violence behave. But they’ve got culpability in this thing: they’re not just victims, they’re enablers.”

(CNN) A clear divide was on display this week in Washington. On one side were the nine witnesses -- all of whom are current or former Trump administration officials. This group was dealing in something called facts. Texts. WhatsApp messages. Contemporaneous notes from phone calls and meetings. Released rough transcripts. Eyewitness testimony.

Those facts all painted a very similar picture: A concerted effort -- from a number of senior officials including President Donald Trump -- to force Ukraine to announce an investigation into Joe and Hunter Biden in exchange for a meeting between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House. When the investigation was not publicly announced, nearly $400 million in US security aid for Ukraine was held up as a way to lever up the pressure on Zelensky to do what Trump wanted.

Washington (CNN) Former Illinois Rep. Joe Walsh said Monday his campaign will go straight to Republican voters in states where Republican parties canceled 2020 presidential primaries, saying the party has become a "cult" that "is all about washing their leaders' feet every day."
Walsh, along with Republican primary challengers former South Carolina Rep. Mark Sanford and former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld, criticized GOP leaders and President Donald Trump in a Washington Post op-ed on Friday on the heels of party leaders in Kansas, South Carolina and Nevada canceling their primaries in a show of support for Trump. When asked on CNN's "New Day" on Monday how he plans to challenge it, Walsh said he is going to take his campaign straight to voters. "We're going to take our campaign directly to Republican voters, and I'll add, in all 50 states, we're going to campaign in all 50 states," Walsh said. "We're going to campaign in South Carolina, Arizona, Nevada, and Kansas, because I believe if we let these Republican voters know that the President of the United States just took away their right to vote, they'll march on the headquarters of their state parties to get that right to vote back." Walsh, who voted for Trump in the 2016 presidential election and is now outspoken against the Trump presidency, called Trump a "would-be dictator." "I always want to pinch myself and remind myself that this isn't Russia. I do not live in Russia. I refuse to live in Russia," Walsh said. "We can't just cancel elections in this country. That's what Donald Trump is doing. He's literally canceling elections, and it's very easy to be p***** off at Trump, but we're used to this with Trump. He is a would-be dictator. He would like this to be Russia." Walsh also said on Monday he has "given up on the Republican Party," calling it "a cult." "They no longer stand for ideas. The Republican Party right now is all about washing their leaders' feet every day. That's what they do."
